Joey Lush’s comprehensive guide to all the best drinking apots in the bustling city of london.

LONDON HAS NO SHORTAGE OF PLACES TO WET YOUR WHISTLE. JOEY LUSH HAS DONE THE LEGWORK, TRACKING DOWN THE MOST MEMORABLE PUBS.

The goal

Give The Hard Sipper's Guide a cover with as much character as the establishments inside it. The design needed to capture the spirit of a city where centuries-old locals sit alongside experimental cocktail dens, appealing to anyone who believes a good drink is best served with a good story.

The approach

Treat the cover like a well-worn drinks menu discovered in a favourite local. Explore the visual language of pub mirrors, old-fashioned signage and printed bar ephemera, mixing nostalgic references with a fresh, contemporary layout.

Results

Designed a hardback cover that gives Joey Lush's irreverent take on London's drinking scene its own unmistakable personality.

Built a visual style around the book's character, creating an eye-catching piece of editorial design that feels equally at home on a coffee table or behind the bar.
