New Psychedelic heavy metal band, The gravy monks, needed striking visuals to help their first album pop off the shelf.
with no online presence, the challenge was to create something that will leave an impression for anyone who sees the album cover or poster.
The goal
Sculpt a visual foundation for the band to use as they proceed through their journey. Then use said foundations to create album artwork and a poster to encourage interaction.
The approach
Bold lines and bright colour gradients allow the audience to recognise the simplistic illustrations from a mile away. The poster provides minimal information while encouraging interaction with their social media (and social media by proxy).
Results
The album sold enough to be financially viable, allowing the band enough money to record their second album. Teaser posters put up around major cities saw decent traffic hit the website and in part, tickets sold on their tour supporting a more known band.
