capturing the sounds of the new wave revival coming out ofthe midlands, plastik order’s new album took inspiration from so many different places.

requesting a completely different visual code that I’m used to creating, this project really pushes boundaries.

The goal

Design a visual identity that bridges the gap between chaos and organisation. Create wild illustrations using photography as a base, while keeping the written information as easy to read.

The approach

Produce a series of photographs that were then used as the base for the illustrations, upping curves on said illustrations to create illuminated effects. The tour posters highlighted individual shows and were put up in their relevant cities.

Results

Album sales were commercially viable. 75% of shows sold out with the rest underselling. While the individual poster marketing worked in some cities, it didn’t work overall due to the locations the posters were placed (not central to the cities, not enough footfall).
