The goal
Produce a promotional poster with a “cleaner” aesthetic to elude to the film’s genre, while it still being stylised enough to add to the visual spaces of both advertising boards and the bedroom’s of fans.
The approach
Clean geometric typefaces add a nod to Fender’s own ethos to the typography used on their headstocks (think the “Jazzmaster” logo). Up-close photography of a set of Fireball guitar pickups show the fender logo in a more contemporary way.
Results
The documentary saw a very positive release and despite not being a commercial success on the opening weekend, it was by the end of the opening week. The overall success of the film has pushed Melissa Burbank onto her next project.
